First official entry! woot woot! Shout out to my athlete Connor Baller for making me an account, and so hear is my late birthday present to him because I am finally writing a post. Did my first 5 mile run in a long time today! Been doing 4 mile for the last few week and am happy to finally being able to build up after struggling with some knee pain from my IronMan last August. Nice warm run, averaging an comfortable 7:37 pace and thinking the whole run about how excited I am to watch my athletes run this week at BYU! My athletes inspire me each and everyday, and push me to accomplish my goals. This weekend I just want to them to half faith in themselves, enjoy this opportunity and be ready for amazing things to happen! Shout out to my other awesome athletes who are racing this weekend (that also have a blog that I know of): Matt Todd, Strrt, dbrickasean and Bridge!

Nice distance run 7:27 pace. Added another race to my summer! I ran into one of my old teammates while at the BYU Invitational last weekend and she invited me to join her Wastach Back Ragnar team (Team Beef)! I've always wanted to try doing a Rangar and even better is that it is a sponsored team, so I don't even have to pay :) My legs that I will be running are 8.70 mile (classified very hard/ 255ft climb), 8.20 miles (very hard/602 ft climb) and 2.50 miles easy. So I guess its a good thing that I'm getting my mileage up:)

Felt a little tight today on the run, so averaged a nice 8:00 pace. But the whole run I just kept thinking about how awesome my team is going to do the next 2 days at region!!!

Awesome run in the rain today! Started off the morning at the high school timing a speed workout for my athletes that are running at state next weekend (and they killed the speed workout by the way)! Then I ran home to get in my speed workout before my brothers eagle court of honor! Did 10 x1 min pick ups with 1 min active recovery inbetween. Average 5:50 pace for the pickups and felt really good! My knee started buggin a little towards the end of the run, but so far it is still holding up well as I increase in mileage and speed :)

How many pick ups did you do? Do you mean 10x1 minute

Nice hilly run today, average 7:10 pace :) Put in state entries today and can't wait for the weekend! Last year we only had 8 individuals running at state, and 12 total counting relay runners. And this year we have 12 individuals competing & 25 total counting realy runners! It is so exciting to see how far Lehi Track has come from when I ran on the team 7 years ago . It was so small that Coach Rowe had to use me on the 4x100m! And there weren't even enough girls that I could convince to run the 4x400m! And I'm excited to keep watching the team move forward!!!

First long run back after getting sick from being in the rain at state (but it was worth it!). Aveagerd 7:45 pace and only had a minor cough attack after,  love how running helps push out that sickness!

Took it short and easy today. Did 6 x 1 min pickups with my team on the grass with 1 minute rest! First speed work out of the season, many more to come! But excited about the determination I saw from the new runners today- I see visions of champions!

Nice long run today! After warming up for a mile and a half  (and some how tripped on a line in the sidewalk....), then did the dream maker! The dream maker is a 1.5 mile  uphill timed run that my team does every so weeks. At practice early today my team did the dream maker for the first time this season and I was super excited with how my team did! The girls rewrote the top 10 record list and I was very impressed with the times & effort put out by the new runners! My team motivates me to be better! I pulled out a time of 10:48, so not too shabby :) Then just took a nice easy run to get in my miles- Ragnar coming up in 2 weeks!

Did 2 different tempo runs with the girls team today. First group went 6:57 pace for 2.5 miles. After cool down and short break, went out with Butters and Elena (they were at soccer) and they held 6:58 pace for 2.50 miles. The girls did great!!!! Awesome practice overall for the team, figuring out where are new runners are at and excited to see where the vetern runners are starting! It's crazy how far this team has come, from my first day as head coach last year. I am so proud of what they have accomplished and the hard work they put in everyday! I'm so blessed to call them my team!

Was so motivated by watching my team do the dream-maker that I had to do it myself :) and FYI running in the rain was the best and gave me the extra power to PR by 2 seconds! #goals

Dude! Today was trill! (Shout out to Connor Baller) I've been slacking in the blogging category but running has been sick this summer! Today did 10x60 sec grass pick ups with the team which was great! The team is looking awesome- I can't wait for the season to start. After practice rode my bike over to highland glen park to mark out the course for our team race next week!

I've lost some motivation to bike as often since my triathlon got canceled (stupid drought that makes the water too shallow) but I think I've found a replacement one in September just got to make sure it doesn't interfere with the xc schedule! Shout out to my team for helping me to not give up on my blogging goals #bloggerwanabe

I love seeing the improvements that my team is making- physically and mentally! I am truly amazed at the dedication and focus that these high schoolers have! After timing the team run the dreammaker at practice today, figured it was time for me to run it again too. Mile and a half warm-up down to the start, then 1.5 back up! Finish time of 10:52 not a PR but it felt good to run hard! Then finished up with a lap around the neighboorhoods to get to 5.
